Currently bundled lots of product can be received by the retail trade in several formats:

Shrink-wrapped bundles with, or in some cases without trays.

Product packed into taped or glued inner cartons.

Sealed inner units holding bundled or cartoned multiples of the same product

These need to be ripped apart or cut in order to access the product before it can be unpacked and loaded onto the shelf individually. In some cases inner trays need to be carefully placed on-shelf at the risk of dropping the products inside possibly causing damage and mess.

This can cause double handling of products, strain injuries during unpacking, risk of injury as shrink wrapping must be torn apart or cut and slow shelf packing speeds in-store especially if the product needs individual packing on shelf.
